Building a 2U AMD Ryzen server (Proxmox GPU Passthrough / OBS or Xsplit in VM)

As I mentioned previously, one of the reasons for this server is to use it as a live streaming server for some of the IP cameras we use on our LAN parties. Since we now have 8MP/4K IP cameras I also wanted to stream in 4K, preferably in 60FPS to make scrolling text look all beautiful and crisp.

Quick review: Jie Yang JY-0508 tripod with fluid head

Since I’m becoming more invested in making video for my blog and channel I needed a better tripod. And although Manfrotto gear is absolutely stellar, it’s price tag is also astronomical. So, I turned to China and ordered one from there for a fraction of the price tag. This is a unboxing video with a small review. Continue reading Quick review: Jie Yang JY-0508 tripod with fluid head

Video: Phone charger cable length, does it matter?

I made a new video about phone charger cables to see if their lengths influences charging speeds.

In this video I take a look at two brands of cables and I check 1ft, 3ft, 6ft and 10ft cables to see how they perform. In the metric system these are 30cm, 1m, 2m and 3m cables!

You can check out there video here:

The cables shown in the video can be found on aliexpress:

Video: Phone Chargers 101

This post will be about phone chargers, so, Phone chargers 101!

For a while now I’ve been interested in several types of power adapters and power delivery. This started with LED drivers and 12v/24v power supplies for LED lighting. There will be more about that in later blog posts. For this first time tryout talk video I’m talking about phone chargers, how they have changed over the past few years and my plans on testing them in follow up videos and blog posts!

Let me know what you think and leave a like if you liked it on youtube!

New Firmware Version 2.5.1.8 for DM365/DM368 DSP IP Camera

A while back a new firmware (2.5.1.8) appeared for the Ti DaVinci DM365 and DM368 camera’s. Only recently a kind comment-er was able to find a link where to download this firmware.

Sadly, as always, there is no changelog. After testing it at least fixes 2 issues I was having with the previous versions have been fixed and who knows what else has improved! Since I’ve been running it without issues the last 2 weeks, it’s time to share it with everyone!

You can find the previous post about the firmware here, I suggest we do new replies about this firmware (and newer) in this topic.

!! A word of warning, if you are on ebay or aliexpress do not trust sellers with “Novate” in the name such as “Novate Intelligence System Company Limited” and “Novate Security World”. They are scammers and while they sell you the camera, if you have problems, they don’t respond anymore and let the shop die to open a new one with a slightly different name!
