IP camera ethernet water damage, how to repair

As some of you know, I have some IP cameras in my backyard. One of them went offline recently and didn’t come back online. Upon inspecting the connection point between the camera ethernet connector and the patch cable had completely fried because of water damage. Can this Dahua camera still be revived? Let’s replace the ethernet connector and see if it still works!

Seagate IronWolf 10TB Firmware Fix (CRC errors with ZFS)

I’ve been using Seagate IronWolf disks for a few years now and currently have about 20 in service, most of those are the 10TB (and 12TB) Non-Pro (ST10000VN0004) variety. Most of my experience with them has been great so when the new server build came along I bought a few more to run as my main ZFS pool. Sister website QuinLED.info

I have noticed some people come here looking for my LED info. Although that is great, I have been creating a sister website called https://quinled.info for the past year!

There you can find all the board designs, component lists but also everything you ever wanted to learn about LED strips, LEDs themselves, what to buy and what not to buy, etc.

So if you are looking for LED info, click here:

But, combining two of my recent Home Assistant videos it’s actually quite easy now, let’s build it and throw some Node-Red into the mix too! 😀

Home Assistant: Cheap Multi-Room Temperature & Humidity sensors

I have been using the Honeywell Evohome system in our house for multi-zone underfloor heating since it’s we’ve moved in. I’ve also been having issues with this system since that time and it’s cost me a lot of work to get it to do what it should do and I’m really fed up with it!

–update 2020-08
I have since also published a video and article about new 4$ sensors!

This video is the first step into replacing that system! In this video we’re going to set up an easy to configure and cheap multi-room temperature sensing system with Home Assistant at its heart.
